To prep our skills before we began self-portraits, students explored the process of drawing a face from the frontal view. We covered the general locations of the facial features and learned a few proportional comparisons to ensure that the facial features are in the correct location. We came up with some interesting "generic man" faces, which makes for a unique line-up. This is a sample of student work from grades 6th, 7th, and 8th.
Materials: old paper/scrap paper, pencil, erasers.
